Control of Neighborhood traffic. This is another Topic that I feel needs to be added to the Topics list.
There are some streets that are used as major arteries by people leaving in the apartments on the west boarder of our neighborhood which makes Colter a very busy street. Also, when west bound traffic backs up from 7th street and Camelback traffic from Camelback cuts through. When traffic backs up at 7th street and Missouri they cut through 10th street to get to Camelback. I occasionally see the dealerships cutting through. So since I am not constantly monitoring the street for their traffic I would guess that they are cutting through many more times that what I see. It is easy for potential criminals to cut through our neighborhood to case it for targets. If neighborhood entrance is restricted they will have to go out of their way to cut through. We also have business traffic and parking (Oregano’s) that is encroaching on the streets just north of Camelback. It is pretty obvious that all the parked cars down 10th Place and 10th Street just off Camelback are those employees of the businesses on Camelback.
Advantages are that we have a quieter neighborhood with an environment of lesser traffic making it friendlier to families with children. Less traffic creates a safer environment for us all to use our neighborhood streets to walk or bike ride in. This will create a more desirable area for future residents to buy in and potentially increasing our property values. There are probably many more benefits that I haven’t though of.
Disadvantages are that some of us may be slightly inconvenienced when getting home or leaving. I will most likely be inconvenienced but I am willing to suffer this in exchange for the above benefits. To experience a neighborhood that has implemented traffic controls go over to the neighborhood bordered by Camelback, Central Ave, 7th street, and Missouri.

This is great feedback! We do want to work on traffic and feel it is very important for the neighborhood to address its traffic and parking issues. The only reason it is not yet listed as a web site Topic is that we have not yet written a post about it. As soon as we do, “Traffic” will start showing up in the topics list. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response.
