Let’s Fight Back Crime

2006 Crime MapRight around New Year’s Day we are bombarded with all kinds of statistics about the previous year, but I don’t really get curious about last year until I manage to stop writing the wrong year in my checkbook while paying bills. Now that I’ve officially settled in to 2007, I decided to check the reported crimes for 2006 for our neighborhood.
The good news is that out of over 200 crimes reported in the 85014 area code, only 12 were in the official bounds of Colter Commons, and only three within the inner streets, with the rest occurring on busier boundary roads. Below is a map showing the location and type of reported crime for the last 12 months.

The bad news is what those three crimes within our inner streets were: two assaults and one drug related crime were reported very recently, all within the same 30-day period. Two “simple assaults” occurred on Colter, one on December 10, and the other on December 15. The drug related crime occurred January 6.

If this information concerns you, please attend the next Fight Back! Meeting on Wednesday, February 7th. We have money and support coming from the City of Phoenix right now, and we need neighbors to attend Fight Back! Meetings to lend support and help maintain control of funds allotted to us by the City. We can fight this if we do it together.

Fight back is a good deal. The $54K from the city is a fantastic sum. It can do a great deal in fighting crime, blight etc. I do hope that “Madison Matters” continues to fight back after the money in gone in a year, & the program moves to another district. By that I mean its the typical govt. budget spend it or lose it type thing.
I will be posting crime prevention tips from time to time along with comments on other post. I will also keep you abreast on Phoenix Neighborhoo Patrol (aka block watchers on patrol) I will be posting them here rather than sending them to the board.

Please notice on the e-mail recently sent that the West Arcadia PNP has sectioned off their block watch area, & left the people that live on those streets handle the affairs that develop.
I believe this is an excellent idea simply because no one knows those streets better than those that live on them.
It would be great if our PNP grew to the point that we could follow suit & fight back follows those guidelines.

Hi everyone I am writing this blog to make everyone aware, so no one gets fooled by these idiots. Also I am thinking of taking this further and the Media needs to air this to protect anyone who may believe what these creeps may try to con out of anyone!!!

Yesterday I went to get my mail, in there was this letter from Law and Associates:-

IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT YOUR HOME LOAN

Because you home loan is delinquent, it has come to the attention of Law and Associates Foreclosure Management Committee for review.

    WHAT THIS MEANS

This does not necessarily mean the end of your homeownership dreams. We want you to be fully aware of the various options that may be available through Law and Associates prior to the completion of the foreclosure process.

Because the foreclosure process may take as little a three months to complete, its important that you understand the ways in which this process may be stopped.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

YOU MUST CALL 1-800-329-9973 WITHIN 72 HOURS to see if you are eligible to take advantage of one of the workout options described below which may stop the foreclosure process. OUR ONLY GOAL IS TO KEEP YOU IN YOUR HOME.

    1. REPAYMENT PLAN: Based on your financial circumstances and investor requirements, we may be able to arrange a new repayment plan that’s easier on you and your finances.

    2. LOAN MODIFICATION: Depending on investor requirements and if your financial situation has improved sufficiently to enable you to resume making payments, we may be able to restructure your loan.

The availability of those options is dependent on a variety of factors, some of which are not within Law and Associates control. However, we encourage you to call Loss Prevention at 1-800-329-9973 so that we may review your situation and discuss which plans may be available to you.

People, please do not get fooled by this scam, i phone them and cussed them out, they are totally clueless and couldnt even tell me who my mortgage company is!! Also the fact that we are current with payments, and dont have financial problems. What scares me is some elderly people who may be behind on a payment may be caught off guard and beleive this rubbish and get had for hundreds of thousands. They even got my address wrong, and was only addressed to me, we are in joint names on our mortgage!!! Protect yourselves and dont be fooled!!! Alert your parents or other family and friends who may be having a problem and who may be vulnerable.
